The Custodian ensures cleanliness, safety, and compliance with established standards. This role entails keeping a designated area of a school building clean and ready for students to enter and learn.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and supplies.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work within a team.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform repetitive tasks.
- Stamina to stand, bend, and move for extended periods.
- Comfort working in various environmental conditions, including exposure to cleaning chemicals and dust.
- Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Inspect facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs and address issues promptly.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel for repairs and specialized cleaning tasks.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Complete training on proper handling of cleaning chemicals and use of personal protective equipment.
- Address any hazards or concerns promptly.
