Job DescriptionFull-Time Maintenance Position
District-Wide
Full-Time: 8 Hours Per Day
Education: High School diploma or equivalent;
Bilingual preferred.
Duties/Skills/
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in building maintenance, grounds, or custodial services is helpful.
- Performs general maintenance work and repairs inside and outside the buildings such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, ceiling, roof, tile, etc.
- Maintains all safety and code requirements of the state, local, and Board guidelines.
- Maintains building doors and door hardware.
- Maintains building lockers and restroom partitions.
- Hold and maintain a valid driver's license - may also include snow plowing of district facilities.
- Knowledge of basic preventative maintenance and repairs related to simple machinery and cleaning equipment.
- Ability to remain focused and possess good problem solving skills.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Examines district-owned facilities on a regular basis for purposes of preventative maintenance relative to position.
- Strong ability to multi-task and detailed oriented.
- Good attendance and punctuality.
- Must be able to work in all environments; hot, cold, rain, snow.
- Ability to work as a team member with a high level of communication skills.
- Ability to relate and work effectively with parents, staff, students, and the public in a multicultural and multiracial community.
- Knowledge and awareness of own cultural identity and how this influences behavior, and desire to learn about the cultural identity of others.
- Ability to establish and nurture an environment that promotes cultural competence and equitable treatment of staff, students, and patrons of the District.
- Ability to recognize that each person is a unique individual even as we celebrate their group cultural heritage.
