Facilities & Warehouse SpecialistWe are currently seeking a full-time Facilities & Warehouse Specialist to join our team in Grand Rapids. This role is a hands‑on position dedicated to maintaining a safe, clean, and highly organized environment across our physical properties and warehouse spaces. This individual assists with day‑to‑day tasks, including routine facility and grounds maintenance, minor facility repairs, construction site support, and processing inventory.

- Receive, unload, and organize inventory, supplies, and donations, ensuring accurate handling and proper storage of materials.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks, material dollies, and forklifts.
- Perform basic, minor building repairs and preventative maintenance tasks (e.g., replacing light bulbs, minor touch‑up painting, adjusting fixtures).
- Maintain clean and professional exterior grounds, including trash removal, sweeping walkways, and minor seasonal upkeep (such as salting or light snow clearing).
- Coordinate, monitor, and assist external service contractors when they are performing technical repairs on‑site.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance (e.g., checking fluid levels, tire pressure, oil changes, repairs, and safety checks).
- Maintain a clean, clutter‑free warehouse and facility floor, ensuring all walkways and emergency exits remain clear and unobstructed.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and facility maintenance supplies are properly cleaned, accounted for, and stored in their designated locations at the end of each shift.
- Immediately report any building hazards, broken equipment, property damage, or safety concerns to the management team.
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of Habitat for Humanity of Kent & Northern Muskegon Counties.
- Receive and maintain professional development training necessary to fulfill the minimum standards of the essential responsibilities, including annual training dedicated to fostering an inclusive culture, enhancing intercultural competencies, and promoting fairness and belonging for all individuals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- At least one year of experience in a warehouse, retail backroom, facilities upkeep, or general labor role preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean, insurable driving record required.
- Ability to obtain forklift certification required.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. frequently, bend, reach, and remain on your feet or move throughout physical spaces for the duration of a shift.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment, and outside weather conditions may fluctuate depending on the season.
- Reliable attendance, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a cooperative team‑player mindset.
