Mel Trotter Ministries is a faith-based, nonprofit organization committed to providing safe shelter and supportive services to individuals experiencing homelessness. As Facilities Maintenance, you’ll keep our buildings, equipment, and grounds running smoothly so our programs can stay focused on serving people. You’ll execute day-to-day maintenance and repairs, support remodeling and construction projects, and help maintain safe, orderly grounds—all under the direction of the Property and Facilities Director.

Key qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience
• Basic to moderate knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems
• Valid driver’s license

You’ll start by checking in with the Property and Facilities Director to line up priorities, then move through the campus tackling a mix of quick fixes and longer projects. Some moments are hands-on and fast; others are measured and methodical as you work through a remodel or build-out. Between tasks, you’ll stay flexible—switching gears when something unexpected pops up—while keeping a steady pace and a safety-first mindset.

By the end of the day, you’ll have a clear list of what’s done, what’s next, and the satisfaction of leaving the space in better shape than you found it.
