The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is seeking to hire one (1) full-time General Maintenance Worker at the Grand Rapids Regional Headquarters.
As a General Maintenance Worker for DNR you will perform janitorial services and maintenance activities to ensure a clean and safe environment for staff and others.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Janitorial services including dusting, vacuuming, recycling, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, maintaining floors, etc. following all required department policies and applicable state and federal laws.
+ Indoor and outdoor maintenance activities including light building repairs and operating equipment for lawn care and snow removal.
** Minimum Qualifications*
* ** This position does require the incumbent to obtain a Special Engineer Boiler license within 90 days from the day of hire.*
* Only applicants whose application/resume clearly describe their experience in each of the following minimum qualifications will be considered for this position.
+ Knowledge of general care and cleaning buildings sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials and equipment.
+ Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents sufficient to select the appropriate agent(s), safely handle and apply and dispose of safely.
+ Experience operating lawn mower, snow blower, and small power tools sufficient to perform buildings and grounds work.
+ Experience in methods, tools and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to operate safely and make minor repairs.
+ Ability to keep records and perform math calculations sufficient to order supplies and complete inventories.
+ Customer service skills sufficient to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
** Preferred Qualifications*
* + Current possession of a valid Minnesota boilers license.
** Additional Requirements*
* This position requires an unrestricted Class D Driver's license with a clear driving record; per DNR Fleet Policy, only those 18 years of age or older with a valid driver's license may operate equipment and vehicles on behalf of the Agency.
