Facilities Maintenance Technician
Yanmar Compact Equipment North America designs, manufactures and supports a complete range of compact equipment including compact track loaders, mini excavators, wheel loaders and construction equipment for use in such markets as construction, landscaping, utility, land management and agriculture. The products are sold primarily through a third party, independent dealer network.
The Facilities Maintenance Technician will perform troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance of processes, machines and equipment, including but not limited to overhead cranes, welding equipment, plasma tables, CNC machines, press brakes, paint and wash booths. This position will also work to maintain and increase the preventative maintenance program for the facility to ensure all equipment is in the best operational setting.

Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, maintain and repair all production and facility equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and complete all required paperwork and documentation.
- Perform regularly scheduled inspections of the buildings and equipment to determine functionality and detect malfunctions or irregularities and initiate needed repair.
- Work with and manage contractors who are brought on-site to perform activities, i.e. –electrical contractors, construction contractors, other 3rd party vendors.
- Perform all building maintenance as needed.
- Maintain building and grounds, i.e. lighting, air conditioning
- Install new equipment, move or rearrange.
- Maintain 5S levels within the Facilities Maintenance Department.
- Assist in all Kaizen events as needed.
- Perform all duties in accordance with local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
- Safely and effectively operate all plant mobile equipment.
Safety:
- Must be able to identify the safety risks and hazards with each task that is completed and mitigate and/or eliminate the risks or hazards to ensure safe working conditions.
- Support the facility and departments by addressing maintenance and safety issues and documenting and communicating irregularities.
- Continually monitors work environments for any unsafe conditions and takes necessary action to mitigate issues as they occur.
- Personally exhibits safe working behaviors to the safety standards that have been established.
- Promptly addresses any raised safety issue or concern.
- Follows all injury reporting and investigation procedures in the event of an accident.
- Operate all equipment and machines with guards and safety features in place and ensure they are working functionally.
- Ensure that lock-out tag-out is performed on all equipment before performing any maintenance and/or repairs.
Qualifications:
Education and/or
Experience:
- Minimum of HS Diploma or equivalent required.
- 5 years' experience in Maintenance activities on process equipment, machinery, tools and facilities systems.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Requires a working knowledge in the usage of production machinery, common hand tools and hand held power tools, fabricating equipment, and portable air tools.
- Requires a working knowledge of all related safety processes and/or procedures.
- Requires sufficient problem-solving skills to troubleshoot situations such as tool and equipment problems or equipment down situations.
- Basic knowledge of Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) processes and the principles and practices of lean manufacturing.
- Ability to convey technical concepts to others.
- Ability to perform a full range of maintenance activity on process equipment, machinery, tools and facility's systems.
- Ability to diagnose maintenance problems and establish corrective course of action.
- Ability to read precision instruments and perform mathematical calculations.
