The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, and comfortable environment throughout the facility. This position plays a vital role in infection prevention, resident satisfaction, and the overall appearance of the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, offices, hallways, dining areas, and common areas
- Dust, mop, sweep, vacuum, and polish assigned areas according to facility standards
- Collect and dispose of trash and regulated waste in accordance with facility procedures
- Restock linens, paper products, toiletries, and housekeeping supplies as needed
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of housekeeping closets, carts, and storage areas
- Follow established infection prevention and control procedures
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to manufacturer instructions
- Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and supply needs to the appropriate department
- Respond promptly and courteously to resident and staff requests
- Work cooperatively with all departments to ensure a clean and welcoming environment
- Attend required meetings and training sessions
- Previous housekeeping, environmental services, hospitality, or healthcare experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and infection control practices preferred
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday
- Must be able to push and pull housekeeping carts and equipment
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work in various environmental conditions within the facility
