Job Overview
Maintaining the standards and appearance of our facility is largely the responsibility of housekeepers, who make sure that everyone's health and safety come first. Because of their attention to detail, dedication to cleanliness, and desire to creating a welcoming atmosphere for both residents and guests, housekeeping staff members are frequently the unsung heroes of a facility.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain Cleanliness
:
Keep the facility's designated areas, such as the common areas, office spaces, public toilets, and hallways, clean on a regular basis. - Sanitize and Disinfect Surfaces
:
Follow established sanitation standards by adhering to daily schedules for disinfecting high-touch areas such as light switches, doorknobs, worktops, and bathroom fixtures. - Empty Trash and Recyclables
:
Make sure recycling regulations are followed, dispose of waste appropriately, and remove rubbish from bins and replace liners as necessary. - Handle Housekeeping Equipment
:
When cleaning floors and carpets, use vacuums, mops, dusters, and buffers, among other cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment, in an efficient and safe manner. - Respond to Requests and Emergencies:
Attend to any urgent cleaning requirements as well as any staff or administrative requests for immediate cleaning, such as spills or unforeseen messes. - Follow Safety Procedures:
To avoid workplace mishaps, follow all safety and health regulations, such as using protective gear, handling cleaning agents appropriately, and according to OSHA regulations. - Encourage a Positive Workplace Culture:
Encourage team objectives, retain a positive attitude, and cooperate with other facilities and cleaning employees.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not mandatory.
- Although training is available for those who are new to the profession but exhibit a strong work ethic and passion, it is preferable that candidates have prior housekeeping experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or comparable setting.
- Attention to Detail:
The capacity to identify and resolve even the smallest hygienic concerns in order to uphold high standards. - Time Management:
Effectively manage chores by striking a balance between unforeseen responsibilities and daily cleaning plans. - Communication:
The fundamental capacity to comprehend, adhere to, and successfully interact with team members and facility personnel. - Physical Stamina:
Able to lift at least 25 pounds; able to move or stand for prolonged periods of time; able to execute repeated chores. - Adaptability:
The ability to change with the times and routines of daily life, and the willingness to help out in many ways as needed.
- Reliable and consistently on time, with a dedication to working all assigned hours, including the occasional weekend or holiday if necessary for full-time jobs.
- Able to operate both independently and collaboratively while treating coworkers, residents, and guests with decency and respect.
The recruiting procedure includes a background check that candidates must pass.
Certification (Preferred but Not Required)- Candidates with cleaning or sanitation certifications (from ISSA or OSHA, for example) have an advantage and could be given preference during the hiring process.
