Technical Manager Legoland Discovery Center

Job Summary

Exempt.

As Technical Manager, responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across attraction. Ensure rides, cinema, equipment, machinery operate smoothly and safely. Lead technician team and maintain coverage.

• Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot physical plant, equipment, machinery, HVAC, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing systems and themed attractions.
• Solve problems to sustain minimal downtime for rides and themed attractions.
• Oversee re-lamping, lighting systems, painting, wall repair, food & beverage equipment, custodial duties, shipping & receiving, exhibit setup and takedown.
• Arrange statutory equipment inspections and implement in-house inspection regimes.
• Ensure follow-up recommendations are carried out, paperwork and signoffs completed.
• Prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure, tight budget environment.
• Prepare, monitor, and maintain continuous improvement plans and operating budgets.
• Build, manage, and motivate a competent team; develop employees; cultivate culture of quality and achievement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED; technical college preferred.
• Minimum three years of managerial experience in a technical/themed environment, including animation, automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical/electronics, networks.
• Experience maintaining rides and themed attractions.
• Professional qualification in mechanical or electrical field preferred.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously; multi-task.
• Self‑motivated, natural team leader, confident, assertive but approachable.

Ability to obtain required licensure or certification as needed.

May occasionally require local or domestic travel.

Responsible for safety of self, colleagues, and guests. Follow Merlin Entertainments Group Health, Safety and Security Policy. Report incidents, cooperate with investigations.

• May be exposed to loud environment, heights >20ft, operate heavy equipment.
