Industrial/Commercial Cleaning Position

Requirement/Must Have:

• 1+ years of relevant experience in industrial or commercial cleaning.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility/security credentials/authorization.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions.
• Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to color coded cleaning microfiber clothes and mops.
• Willingness to wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
• Ability to cope with demands and stressors associated with the job and work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Cleans and maintains buildings/facilities.
• Performs heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing trash.
• Notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
• Complies with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the organization and regulatory authorities.
• Completes all assigned tasks with flexibility.
• Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming while following procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment.
• Utilizes ladders to dust and wash furniture, walls, blinds, ceilings, light fixtures, and ceiling vents.
• Removes stains from surfaces such as carpet, drapes, walls, and floors using appropriate chemicals.
• Prepares cleaning solutions per specifications.
• Strips, seals, finishes, and polishes floors.
• Cleans and vacuums carpeted areas, including application of spot cleaning treatment.
• Gathers trash and empties it into appropriate trash and recycling bins.
• Wipes and cleans tabletops, chairs, refrigerators, and microwaves.
• Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures.
• Services, cleans, and supplies restrooms.
• Cleans interior partition glass, windows, and mirrors.
• Keeps janitor’s closet neat and orderly and maintains equipment in good working order.
• Monitors building security and safety by locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliances.
• Drives vehicles if required, including vans, industrial trucks, or golf carts, to perform or travel to other facilities.
• Provides special cleaning and support during events as needed.

Qualification And

Education:

Physical Requirements (Due to nature of job, The candidate must have):

• Ability to perform repetitive motions including bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, stretching, reaching, and wrist movement.
• Ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs or more.
• Ability to work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions.
