Custodial​/Maintenance worker

Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Worker will perform a wide variety of custodial and maintenance duties

• Performs a wide variety of custodial and maintenance tasks for the upkeep and cleaning of library building, equipment, and grounds.
• Responds to all maintenance issues in a timely manner.
• Conducts the general cleaning of the library including dusting, vacuuming, restrooms, floors, furniture, windows and other areas.
• Maintains library grounds including sidewalk snow removal, salting and removing litter.
• Sets up and breaks down meeting room furniture and equipment.
• Unloads deliveries and distributes to appropriate locations.
• Is available in case of emergency, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Attends meetings and other continuing education events as required which may require evening or weekend attendance.
• Maintains awareness of Library events.
• Assists Facility Manager with special projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience:

Basic knowledge of custodial and routine maintenance is required; 1 year of experience is preferred.

• Basic knowledge of custodial and routine maintenance.
• Works independently and exercises initiative as needed.
• Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff and work styles.
• Understands and follows supervisory guidance.
• Adheres to attendance requirements.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and G Suite applications is helpful.
• Conducts all library business in a professional and cooperative manner.

• Frequent sitting, standing, walking
• Bending, stooping, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, and fine manipulation skills; may lift 50 lbs.
