The Southern Region Parks Division of the Prince George’s County Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking a Seasonal Park Maintenance Worker-Program Support to provide year-round seasonal support for park operations, special events, maintenance projects, and program needs throughout the division.

- Assist with general park maintenance, groundskeeping, facility support, and program-related tasks
- Set up, break down, transport, and store equipment, supplies, furniture, tables, chairs, tents, signs, and other program support items
- Load and unload tools, equipment, supplies, and materials from vehicles and work areas
- Support park programs, events, rentals, special projects, and maintenance operations as assigned
- Use hand tools, power tools, carts, vehicles, trailers, and other maintenance equipment safely and appropriately
- Use power cords, tools, carts, and other equipment safely
- Clean, organize, maintain, and store tools, equipment, materials, and supplies
- Monitor work areas and event/program setups to support safety, cleanliness, and successful operations
- Provide support to Southern Region Parks Division staff
- Transport, deliver, set up, and break down program support items, equipment, tools, supplies, and materials
- Maintain inventory of equipment, tools, supplies, and materials used for program support operations
- Support effective execution of daily tasks through teamwork and communication
- Perform related tasks as required
Required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to bend, stoop, stretch, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, humidity, and cold
Preferred
- Experience in the electrical field
- Experience with technical lighting, set design, or electrical equipment
- Experience operating trucks, trailers, forklifts, tractors, loaders, or similar maintenance equipment
May be subject to drug and alcohol testing.
This position may be considered safety-sensitive depending on assigned duties. Applicants may be required to participate in post-offer/pre-employment controlled substance and alcohol testing when assigned safety-sensitive responsibilities.
When You’ll Work- Work schedules may vary based on program needs and may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, holidays, and weather-related assignments.
- This is a year-round seasonal position that provides on-call or scheduled support for parks, facilities, programs, events, and maintenance operations.

- Work may occur in varying weather conditions, including heat, rain, humidity, and cold
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- This position is part-time and not eligible for benefits.
