Position Overview
Part‑time Custodian, District – Job . Non‑exempt, hourly rate $17.38 per hour. Contract length: 260 days (Monday through Friday evenings, 4:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.). Continuous application acceptance. Paid leave and sick leave, as per Board of Education Policy Manual. Reports to Custodial Foreman.
Responsibilities- Operate cleaning equipment as needed.
- Use positive verbal and non‑verbal skills when interacting with district personnel and community members.
- Follow printed information on the Facilities Department work order system.
- Direct the activities of temporary employees.
- Respond to emergencies.
- Clean restrooms; vacuum, sweep, mop, wax, and buff floors.
- Clean chalkboards; shampoo carpets; empty wastebaskets.
- Wash windows, walls, light fixtures, and furniture.
- Operate vacuum cleaners, floor machines, and other mechanical equipment.
- Set up and clean after evening activities in assigned buildings.
- Substitute for a general custodian or other part‑time employee when required.
- Ensure security and lock up building at night.
- Set up rooms and/or equipment for special events.
- Clean body‑fluid spills.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred, or any other combination of related education, experience, and training.
- Valid Colorado driver’s license.
Applicant must have the ability to follow and understand oral and written instructions; deal tactfully with the public and staff; respond under pressure while maintaining courteous professional relationships; perform work with a high degree of accuracy; make decisions using good judgment and common sense; follow established safety practices; work independently and with others; perform all functions of the position.
