The vacancy is a lead Highway Maintenance Specialist (TM II) that will be located in Granby.

Pay is divided into biweekly pay periods (26 per year). The total annual compensation typically ranges from $70,872 to $76,752, which includes a base salary of $58,872 to $64,752 and a housing stipend of $12,000 per year ($1,000 per month).

Base pay for this position is typically $58,872 to $64,752 per year, paid biweekly. This location is also eligible for a $1,000 per month housing stipend.

• Perform the daily planning and scheduling of activities in the assigned work area; develop work plans for employees on the patrol; review work progress, identify training needs, provide feedback, on‑job training and mentoring; provide performance appraisal input and recommendations; conduct tailgate safety talks for employees.
• Ensure patrol attends all required personnel training, safety classes and informational trainings; conduct worksite, night and roadway inventory inspections.
• Lead, perform and assist in maintaining roadway surface by hand patching, roto‑milling, machine patching, crack‑sealing, blading existing unpaved shoulders, building or restoring unpaved shoulders, stock piling, etc.
• Lead, perform and assist in maintenance of roadside facilities by cleaning drainage structures, repairing and replacing structures, maintaining stream beds and ditches, slope repair, dirt drifts, mud and rock slide cleanup, fence, gate and sound barrier maintenance, litter barrel and trash cleanup, rock run, machine sweeping and hand sweeping.
• Lead, perform and assist in traffic services such as maintenance, replacement and installation of single post signs, delineators and reference posts, guard rails, pavement markings or removal, roadway warning devices, energy attenuators, courtesy assistance.
• Lead, perform and assist in maintenance of roadside appearance through vegetation control, hand mowing, weeding, tree trimming and removal.
• Lead, perform and assist in bridge/structure maintenance and repair through visual inspection, cleaning, deck repair, crack and joint sealing, rigid and flexible bridge deck milling, flex deck crack sealing, superstructure maintenance, painting, bearing maintenance, substructure repair, approach slab and slope protection, and deck expansion device maintenance.
• Lead, perform and assist in snow and ice control through snow removal, traction application, ice control, stock piling, and snow fence installation and repair.
• Lead, perform and assist in maintenance and repair of equipment, buildings and grounds upkeep.
• Complete required paperwork and reports; use SAP to enter work orders, timesheet entries and other items regularly.
• Trim and remove trees; remove graffiti.
• Use a variety of light to heavy equipment.
• Ensure patrol uses proper equipment and personal protective equipment.
• Assist other patrols as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
