Job Summary:

The Facilities Service Worker position is an essential part of the Department of Culture, Parks, and Recreation. This position is responsible for facility cleaning and maintenance at one of six CPRD facilities that may include the UCCC, Recreation Center, Active Adult Center, Family Fun Plex, Ice Haus, or Rodarte Center. This position's primary responsibilities will be at the Family Fun Plex.

In addition, this position is expected to communicate effectively with their supervisor and various CPRD staff for setup and tear down of events.

Experience, Knowledge,

Skills:

Minimum Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License for 2 years with a clean driving record.

OR

• Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job,

AND

• Possession of a valid driver's license.

Preferred:

• One (1) year of related experience.
• Bilingual – English/Spanish.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of the business and organizational structure of Colorado municipalities.
• Collaboration skills, including the ability to work with others from different areas and backgrounds to reach a common goal.
• Knowledge of cleaning and maintenance as it relates to public buildings.
• Demonstrated customer service and communication skills required.
• Ability to understand written and verbal instructions required.
• Proficient computer skills to use Outlook, Connect2 (work order entry software), Amelia software for event schedules, coordination, TEAMS for virtual meetings and Oracle for payroll, requested PTO and evaluations.
• Handle difficult situations with facility guests with patience, good judgement, and diplomacy.

Travel:

• Category A-Standard Local Travel:
  This position requires occasional local travel within the County. Employees may be expected to walk or drive short distances to attend meetings, trainings, or perform work at other city buildings or partner sites.

Essential Functions:

• Facility Maintenance
• Directly responsible for overseeing the cleaning and maintenance of the Family Fun Plex.
• Operates small equipment such as buffers, vacuums, extractors, and lifts.
• Provides general maintenance and repairs including light bulb replacement, painting, wall repairs, and other minor tasks.
• Maintains the grounds around the Family Fun Plex with the assistance of the Parks and Forestry Department. This includes gum removal, sidewalk cleaning, pest control/clean up, trimming and leaf cleanup, using hand garden tools, operating small equipment such as a hand blower and snow blower.
