This position plays a vital role in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for members, guests, and staff. Working closely with the broader Kroc team, the Maintenance team member handles repairs, preventative maintenance, and day-to-day facility needs while providing responsive, customer-focused support that helps our programs and operations succeed.

This 18-hour-per-week position offers a varied schedule of 3–5 days per week, with shifts typically between 12:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., plus rotating Saturday shifts. Starting pay is $21.12 per hour, depending on skills and experience, with an additional $1.00 per hour shift differential for all hours worked from 4:00 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

SUMMARY/PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Maintenance staff member is a collaborative member of the overall Kroc team focused on providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers in support of the programs and mission of the Kroc. This role emphasizes all repair and maintenance of facilities, buildings, and equipment and support to other team members to ensure effective operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs repairs and preventative maintenance procedures on assigned areas and equipment such as restrooms, public areas, trash containment areas and any public or work area, including plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems. Notifies supervisor when outside contractors are needed for certain repairs.
  • Maintains the appearance of the facility by painting, replacing worn out fixtures and other tasks as necessary to assure an attractive facility is presented to guests, volunteers and employees.
  • Serves as first respondent to fire alarms, chemical spills, and hazardous materials spills during assigned shift.
  • Executes the preventative maintenance plan for the facility.
  • Provide basic care to vehicles and tools to ensure proper operation.
  • Perform outdoor maintenance tasks to include groundskeeping and landscaping, shoveling and salting, which includes the operation of all relevant equipment including weed trimmers, lawnmowers, snowblowers, etc.
  • Assists with setup, tear-down, and change-over for events and programs, housekeeping duties, receipt of deliveries, and other facility needs.
  • Respond promptly to radio calls and other contacts seeking facilities team member assistance, communicating well and being ready and willing to assist with facility needs.
  • Knowledge and use of all proper personal equipment, including wearing of protective gloves, safety glasses, and lifting belts.
MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years experience preferred
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
