JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Under direction of Associate Director of Facilities, the Technician I is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the school environment. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, hallways, and classrooms; responding promptly to clean-up emergencies; and ensuring garbage and recycling containers are emptied regularly. The Technician I also assists with various tasks such as snow removal, cafeteria preparation, and minor maintenance repairs, while also fostering positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

Starting wage is $18.57/hour. This position works Monday through Friday, 7:15 am to 3:45 pm. Start date is as soon as possible. The Howard-Suamico School District offers highly desirable benefits as part of our total compensation package.

Essential Functions:
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, hallways, and classrooms throughout the day, ensuring a hygienic and safe space for students and staff.
  • Respond to radio calls for clean-up emergencies and secure the building as directed.
  • Empty garbage and recycling containers, maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
  • Remove snow and salt walkways in winter, and ensure the yard and playground are free of debris during warmer months.
  • Move furniture.
  • Basic maintenance and painting.
  • Exterior maintenance (raking, mowing, site clean up, trim shrubbery, etc.).
  • Complies with safety and environmental regulations and procedures including the handling of chemicals, solvents, blood, body fluids and/or body tissues.

High School Diploma or GED.

Licensure: N/A

Certificates, Certifications, or Other Training: CPR Certification (can be obtained during employment)

Previous Work-Related

Experience:

1-3 years work-related experience in maintaining a clean and organized environment in a school setting.
