Job Responsibilities
  • Loads and applies crop protection inputs to customers’ fields and grows crops according to recommended rates, procedures, and pesticide labels to maximize product performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Completes spray/application logs as fields are completed, noting any problems or concerns when they occurred.
  • Performs routine maintenance on all facility equipment, including oil changes, lubrication, and cleaning of application equipment as recommended in the operator’s manual to maximize equipment reliability and service life.
  • Works with other location employees to maintain location, buildings, equipment, and property to enhance company image.
  • Delivers products to customers as required, including assisting walk‑in customers.

  • Adheres to environmental, health, training, and safety policies to prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Adheres to the uniform policy and maintains a professional image.
  • Assists with crop scouting as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Previous applicator or related experience and/or training to demonstrate the ability to custom apply fertilizers, crop protection products, and ag lime.
  • Proven professional communication and customer service skills and the ability to comprehend simple instructions, communicate one‑on‑one and in small groups with customers and other employees.
  • Ability to keep sensitive customer, business, and employee information confidential.
  • Demonstrated time management and basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a team‑oriented environment.
  • Basic computer skills as they relate to custom application business.
  • Demonstrated core competencies including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a CDL with proper endorsements and a commercial operator’s license from the Department of Agriculture, and must pass a DOT physical and drug test as per F.M.C.S. regulations.
Working Conditions
  • Must be willing to work beyond those hours considered normal.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
  • Able to perform work overhead or while lying under machinery.
  • Must be able to perform minor equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Willing to work outdoors in weather extremes when necessary.

Compensation

This position offers an estimated range of $18.00 – $25.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, the position may have the opportunity to earn bonuses based on company or location performance metrics, in accordance with company policies. Actual earnings may vary based on individual performance and market conditions.

Employment is contingent upon receipt of an acceptable and job‑related background check, drug test, motor vehicle report, and/or reference check, as applicable and permissible by law.
