Lead HVAC Technician

Job Responsibilities

• Prioritize assigned maintenance work to execute emergency breakdown response.
• Report to immediate supervisor items affecting or potentially affecting proper and safe operation of plant and equipment.
• Maintain an acceptable backlog of planned maintenance activity.
• Run service calls, repair plumbing, electric, mechanical and other equipment in a timely, efficient manner.
• Maintain inventory of hospital standard finishes for repairs.
• Assist Director or Manager on department systems and functions as directed.
• Report safety issues and work with Director or Manager to determine corrective action.
• Develop and update technical policies and procedures.
• Attend construction rounds and report deficiencies.
• Assist in scheduling workload, work order assignment, and plant coverage.
• Order necessary parts and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair systems and components, inspect and complete service requests efficiently.
• Coordinate with contractors on scheduling and repairs.
• Coordinate utility shutdown requests with departments and contractors.
• Perform maintenance risk assessments prior to work on life security devices (e.g., fire, protection, utilities, HVAC).
• Respond to water intrusion events to minimize loss and prevent mold.
• Monitor and record moisture levels; trace roof leaks and report roof conditions.

High school diploma or equivalent with 7+ years of experience in a related discipline.
