Job DescriptionThe Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, safety, and efficiency of all facility systems in a manufacturing environment specializing in printing. This role includes performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on building systems, equipment, and production-related infrastructure. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or as part of a team to support continuous production operations.
Responsibilities- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on facility equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and mechanical systems.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair building systems to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Assist with the setup, maintenance, and minor repair of production equipment related to printing processes when needed.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from production or administrative staff.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following safety protocols and company policies.
- Coordinate with outside vendors and service providers for specialized repairs or maintenance projects.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Participate in facility improvement projects, including equipment upgrades, building renovations, and energy efficiency initiatives.
- Document maintenance work, inspections, and repairs accurately and timely.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in facilities maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in facilities or building maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and preventive maintenance practices.
- Experience in a printing or production environment.
- Basic carpentry or welding skills.
- Experience with PLCs, motors, and industrial machinery troubleshooting.
- Must be able to stand, bend, lift, and climb as needed to perform maintenance tasks.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including high noise, temperature changes, and industrial areas.
