Stationary Engineer

Location:

Greenfield, Indiana – 3rd shift, 7 days on, 7 days off. Operate powerhouse equipment to ensure reliable utility supplies to campus buildings.

• Perform and facilitate preventive and corrective maintenance for all power plant equipment.
• Coordinate all utility operations while on shift.
• Operate, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain systems such as boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, pumps, and deionized water production trains.
• Utilize the Utility Monitoring System to monitor, control, and trend plant performance.
• Complete preventive and corrective maintenance work orders.
• Provide backup assistance for Wastewater Treatment Plant operations.
• Perform water chemistry laboratory analysis and maintain chemical parameters.
• Investigate and assist with abnormal facility conditions after hours.
• Follow all SOPs and maintain a safe working environment.
• Interact professionally with facility staff and customers.
• Assist Utilities Supervisor.
• Work with potentially hazardous substances.
• Climb ladders and work in confined spaces when necessary.
• Exposure to greases, oil, solvents, additives, and live steam may occur.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent; trade school or college preferred but not required.
• 3+ years of experience in power plant, chilled water plant, or utility operations.
• Boiler Operator certification preferred but not required.
• 1+ year experience operating chillers preferred but not required.
• HVAC or chiller experience helpful but not required.
• 1+ year experience monitoring, testing, and adjusting chemical input for boiler water feed preferred.

• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
