Stationary Engineer Greenfield, Indiana 3rd shift, 12 hour shift Stationary Engineer/Boiler Operator/Utilities Technician you’ll safely and efficiently operate powerhouse equipment to ensure reliable utility supplies to campus buildings.
Job Responsibilities- Perform and help facilitate completion of preventive and corrective maintenance for all power plant equipment
- Coordinate all utility operations while on shift
- Operate, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain systems such as boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, pumps, and deionized water production trains
- Utilize the Utility Monitoring System to monitor, control, and trend performance of plant equipment
- Complete preventive and corrective maintenance work orders
- Provide back-up assistance for Wastewater Treatment Plant operations
- Perform water chemistry laboratory analysis on plant systems and maintain chemical parameters
- Investigate abnormal facility conditions as needed after hours
- Follow all SOPs and maintain a safe working environment
- Interact professionally with facility staff and customers
- Assist the Utilities Supervisor
- Work with potentially hazardous substances as required
- Climb ladders and work in confined spaces as needed
- Work in environments with exposure to greases, oil, solvents, additives, and live steam
- Two or more years of experience in power plant, chilled water plant, or utility operations
- Trade school training in HVAC or boiler operations
- Boiler Operator certification
- One or more years of experience operating chillers
- One or more years of commercial experience performing maintenance and repair of HVAC and chiller equipment
- One or more years of experience monitoring, testing, and adjusting chemical input for boiler water feed
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
