- Hourly Employment

Roster positions are paid hourly and do not include benefits such as medical, dental, or vision insurance, life insurance, paid leave, or paid holidays. - Limited Hours
:
Roster employees may work up to, but no more than, 1,000 hours in a 12‑month period. - Pension System
:
Roster positions are not eligible for membership in the city’s pension system.

Primary Duties/Brief Description of Work:The person in this position will perform a variety of light to moderate housekeeping duties in City government facilities. This individual will prepare the facility for opening by completing duties such as cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, offices, hallways, and conference & meeting rooms. Additional duties will include, but are not limited to: sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors, washing walls, woodwork and fixtures, and emptying trash & recyclable receptacles.
The successful candidate must have experience using the following tools of the trade: mop bucket/wringer, microfiber cleaning cloths, wet/dust mops, brooms, janitorial cart, vacuum cleaners, hip vacuum, warning wet floor signage, scrapers, etc. The physical functions of the job require walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling and the ability to move or lift 10 lbs. This employee will also be responsible for requisitioning necessary cleaning supplies to the supervisor.
Applicant should be able to read and follow instructions and must maintain a reliable means of transportation to work locations.
This job is Non‑Exempt and is subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Minimum Qualifications:- High School diploma/GED with 1‑year experience in housekeeping
- Prior experience operating janitorial equipment (carpet extractors, scrubbers, and buffers)
- Previous work experience in a large commercial organization/building environment
- Experience providing customer service
- Basic computer experience
