We are currently seeking part time hospitality-minded custodian to join our team. Prior housekeeping experience working in a hotel, retirement community, hospital setting preferred, but not required. Must possess excellent hospitality skills, be warm, respectful, detail oriented, and be an enthusiastic, positive team member.

GENERAL SUMMARYThe Custodian/Floor Tech/ Project person is responsible for major floor care projects, public area cleaning and trash disposal.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES EssentialJob Duties
- Maintains floors and carpets within the Community.
- Picks up and removes trash from trash rooms, offices and other locations within the Community.
- Cleans all public areas.
- Provides preventive maintenance to housekeeping machines such as vacuums, carpet shampooers and floor machines.
- Completes all meeting rooms setups in auditorium, arts and crafts room, lobby, etc.
- Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
- Provides input and feedback to Housekeeping Supervisor on as needed basis regarding status of projects, areas needing attention, etc.
- Maintains housekeeping equipment room in a clean and orderly condition.
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively.
- Previous floor maintenance experience preferred but not required.
Moderate to heavy physical effort 95% of the work day. Must be able to stand and walk long distances up to 8 hours per day. Must be able to stoop and work from a kneeling position, perform repetitive bending, reaching and stretching. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. independently. Must be able to push and/or pull wheeled carts and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.

May be exposed to communicable diseases including influenza, HIV and Hepatitis. May be exposed to unpleasant odors, high heat levels, and institutional cleaning chemicals.
