Minimum Experience/Education
- Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Special certification may be required for some of these positions.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
- Preferred are a High School Diploma or GED and 3+ years of experience within the field of janitorial/custodial work or other related manual labor fields. Supervisory experience would be considered a plus. Ability to assist with providing direction to other staff members. Ability to write legibly and deal effectively with public sector. Applicant should be physically able to perform all cleaning operations that require continuous walking, reaching, and bending.

Ability to practice safe handling of cleaning chemicals, cleaning equipment, storage and use of materials. Also, experience with floor care maintenance such as carpet shampooing machine, floor scrubber, buffers, waxing, stripping, etc.

Position Overview

Primary Purpose of Position
- The position works in the Student Center to maintain upkeep of the facility. This position provides routine cleaning and maintenance of facility.

Work in this class involves providing institutional services support for State agencies and universities in the areas of building environmental services and laundry services. Employees perform a variety of duties in the care and cleaning of dormitories, offices, highway rest areas or welcome centers, and other state buildings.
