Cleaner Part-Time

Eastern Carolina Vocational Center Inc . has an opening for (2) CLEANERS PART-TIME in the JANITORIAL DEPARTMENT. These positions are responsible for keeping buildings and grounds in a clean and orderly condition. Perform duties such as cleaning floors, glass, and removing trash/recycled material.

Hours:
Mon – Fri; 8:00am - 11:00am or 5:00pm - 9:00pm

• Monitors building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
• Carry bathroom items and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts.
• Services, cleans, and replenishes supply in restrooms.
• Gathers and empty trash or recyclable materials.
• Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
• Clean windows and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and cloths.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming them

• Independent work duties
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
• May be assigned to a specific area of responsibility or asked to work or help-out other areas requiring help

• Medium work with lifting and/or moving objects up to 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. constantly.
• Ability to hear and speak
• Constant standing/walking
• Good visual acuity
• Ability to reach, handle, finger
• Frequent stooping, crouching
• May assist in the movement or relocation of furniture

Background check must be favorable to work in multiple office buildings. Dependable transportation and excellent attendance are expected.
