Job Summary
Cleans the Corps building to ensure neatness and cleanliness daily. Assists in monitoring light fixtures and replaces bulbs as needed. Helps keep grounds clean and free of trash, using a ride mower, push mower, and edger. Assists in setting up meeting rooms with tables and chairs and cleans meeting areas after meetings are finished. Must be able to clean and use appropriate chemicals with care to keep the building and grounds sanitized and well‑kept.
Able to follow instructions and work well with others. Must be able to drive Salvation Army vehicles as needed for food pickup or other errands. Performs other related work as required.
Skills and Abilities
- Perform general maintenance and cleaning activities for buildings and grounds
- Follow instructions and work independently
- Read and communicate in English
- Bilingual a plus but not necessary
No formal education or experience required; six (6) months experience performing general housekeeping duties; any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
CertificationsValid State Driver’s License.
Physical Requirements- Meet attendance requirements
- Exert physical energy required for housekeeping and minor maintenance work, including continuous walking, stooping, standing, and climbing
- Lift 35 to 75 pounds
- Work performed in a normal office environment with some exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or disagreeable sights and odors
