Yard Laborer

Summary:

The Yard Laborer is responsible for safely and efficiently performing general labor duties at a hauling company, transfer station, recycling center or landfill. Responsibilities may include such things as cleaning portable restrooms, yard clean-up, fueling vehicles, washing equipment, small equipment operation, general office maintenance, acting as helper on a garbage truck, and other related duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently perform assigned responsibilities to include such duties as:
  Cleaning and maintaining work areas;
  Fueling vehicles and equipment;
  Cleaning equipment
• Perform yard work, including mowing and paper pick-up.
• Clean portable restrooms
• Operate general site vehicles and equipment such as skid steers, mowers, trimming equipment, etc.
• Perform general office maintenance and repairs, including painting and janitorial work.
• Install temporary fences
• Direct traffic at the site as necessary.
• Act as a helper on garbage trucks
• Pressure wash containers and portable restrooms
• Assist with special events
• Follow and comply with all safety policies.
• Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/ and or Experience:.

• A valid non-CDL driver's license is required.
• Experience in the Solid Waste Industry preferred.
