Under close supervision, ships, receives, stocks and fulfills orders of product in the distribution center, while following company policies and guidelines. Typically, tasks are completed using an RF scanner, step ladders, conveyor systems, and sortation walls. The Material Handler position incorporates several subtitled roles: for example, repacker, order selector, picker, checker, packer, sorter, skip chaser, labeler, box maker; and can be located in departments throughout the distribution center including receiving, replenishment, retail pick/decant, ecommerce pick, retail put‑to‑store, ecommerce pack/sort, shipping, and quality assurance.

The Material Handler is a champion of Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, and should demonstrate them skillfully and consistently by performing the following duties and responsibilities of the position (as well as all other projects/duties as assigned).

• Accurately picks and packs orders using established work practices
• Restocks picking bins with product brought from reserve storage based on warehouse management system reporting
• Accurately sorts, counts, and receives all merchandise
• Moves product to and from pallet racks with powered material handling equipment such as pallet jacks
• Works with conveyors to accurately build pallets of cartons to ship out
• Loads or unloads trucks, sorting and labeling product as needed
• Organizes warehouse storage space effectively
• Works in a clean and orderly manner at all times
• Uses a RF scanner/hand scanner to direct work (pick, pack, receive, move)
• Use of sortation walls and conveyor systems to complete daily tasks
• Meets safety, productivity, and quality standards
• Demonstrates flexibility in daily task assignments and performs other general warehouse tasks, as assigned

• Establishes professional peer and brand partner relationships that foster a shared interest in collaboratively delivering exceptional guest service
• Uses basic interpersonal skills in accomplishing tasks
• Partnering with Operations Manager when barriers exist that slow down work
• Attends mandatory trainings and meetings to enable continuous professional development
• Works effectively in a team environment

• Knowledgeable of and ensures compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards
• Adheres to the Ulta Beauty dress code
• Protects company assets by following loss prevention best practices and providing exceptional guest service
• Follows all safety guidelines and standards to ensure a safe working environment, including hazard recognition, housekeeping, accident and near miss reporting, proper use of all safety equipment and procedures, and adherence to all safety rules
• Executes other operational tasks as directed
• Adheres to established attendance, quality, and production standards
• Follows instructions quickly, safely, and accurately
• Effectively communicates, understands oral instructions, reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, in English

• High school diploma or GED; 1 year or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Previous relevant experience is preferred

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of RF (radio frequency) scanners
• Basic computer skills
• Must be reliable and dependable
