About

The Role

The Maintenance Supervisor I plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation and upkeep of facility equipment and infrastructure within the organization. This position is responsible for overseeing maintenance activities, coordinating with team members, and implementing preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. The supervisor will oversee all day to day operations while also training, and supporting other team members to ensure high‑quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Additionally, the role involves managing maintenance schedules, troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues, and collaborating with other departments to support operational goals. Ultimately, the Maintenance Supervisor I ensures that all maintenance operations contribute to a safe, reliable, and productive work environment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, or mechanical fields is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance roles, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems relevant to industrial or commercial facilities.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in maintenance operations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • Certification in maintenance management or relevant technical certifications (e.g., OSHA, EPA, HVAC).
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and inventory control.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Knowledge of energy management and sustainability practices.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities of mechanical, electrical, and facility systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce equipment failures and extend asset life.
  • Lead, train, and mentor maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex maintenance issues promptly to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, prepare reports, and communicate effectively with management and other departments regarding maintenance status and needs.
