Facilities Technician

Responsibilities

Monitors and maintains general repairs, maintenance and sanitation of city facilities. Success in this position contributes to clean, safe and well‑maintained facilities. Essential duties include:

• Inspects and monitors City facilities for maintenance and repair needs; inspects, troubleshoots, repairs or coordinates the repair of roofs, walls, doors, windows, mechanical systems, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and plumbing systems.
• Performs daily maintenance and cleaning of City facilities.
• Maintains assigned equipment and supplies.
• Renovates office space for tenement rental.

• Knowledge of building maintenance principles, including the repair and maintenance of electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of custodial maintenance principles.
• Skill in the use of hand and power tools.
• Skill in the use of cleaning chemicals.
• Skill in painting.
• Skill in oral and written communication.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Two years of related experience.

Hourly Rate of Pay $16.54 per hour with competitive benefits package and generous pension plan
