Environmental Services Associate Technician

Job Summary

You can make a difference in patients' lives as an Environmental Service Technician with Corewell Health. Your contributions in this role have a direct impact on high‑quality care; you'll be responsible for cleaning and disinfecting assigned work areas, removing medical waste, trash, and linens, and maintaining the appearance and condition of our floors, carpets, and upholstery. Communication and collaboration with other team members are essential to ensure continuity of service and help foster a positive work environment.

No experience is required – you will be fully trained and supported and can grow and learn new skills to develop your career.

• Clean, disinfect, and stock patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas in accordance with established procedures.
• Remove and dispose of linens and waste streams.
• Perform interim and restorative maintenance on hard floors, carpets, and upholstery according to procedures.
• Assemble, maintain, and store equipment and supplies required to complete tasks per department standards.
• Communicate and collaborate with team members to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
• Report general maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in the work area.
• Assist visitors and employees in navigating the hospital.
• Operate within a single cleaning area, with occasional coverage across department sites as needed.
• Actively participate in safety initiatives, risk‑mitigating measures, and complete all position and unit safety competencies on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to read and follow instructions.
• High‑school graduate or equivalent.
• Preferred: public service and/or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial setting.

Site – Grosse Pointe Hospital – 468 Cadieux Rd, Grosse Pointe. Part‑time, variable shift, 20 hours per week, weekend frequency.
