PositionOperator Trainee – Groveland, Florida.
ScheduleHours 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, with flexibility to work different shifts as needed to meet operational demands.
Responsibilities- Support the Water, Wastewater and Maintenance departments ensuring proper operation and maintenance of treatment systems and equipment.
- Assist with laboratory tests, sample analysis, and equipment testing including cleanup of autosampler bottles.
- Monitor and adjust system flows, treatment process conditions, and storage levels; maintain system reports and logs.
- Help maintain and clean plant equipment, lab counters, and floors, including general grounds maintenance and basic pump and motor maintenance.
- Attend required training, take tests, and participate in on‑job training to meet State of Florida licensing prerequisites.
- Work toward obtaining a State of Florida Class “C” Drinking Water and/or Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator license within 12 months of hire.
- Make sound process control decisions, follow instructions, and adhere to safety procedures.
- Complete a background check, pre‑placement physical, and drug screen before employment.
- Use the computer systems to manage work orders, the computerized maintenance management system, and order plant supplies.
- Assist with project activities as needed and support overall plant operations.
- High School Degree or equivalent.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License.
- Strong computer skills and willingness to learn water treatment processes.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in a plant setting.
- Commitment to maintaining cleanliness, safety, and compliance.
