Facility Maintenance Specialist
The Facility Maintenance Specialist supports the day-to-day operations of the Distribution Center through facility maintenance, building repairs, equipment upkeep, and grounds maintenance activities. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, functional, and efficient work environment while supporting operational and safety standards across the facility.
Responsibilities- Construct, maintain, and repair building structures, walls, floors, ceilings, cabinets, furniture, and related facility components.
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance activities throughout the Distribution Center facility.
- Maintain forklift battery charging stations, including battery watering and general upkeep.
- Build, rebuild, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair equipment according to specifications, drawings, or sketches to ensure equipment operates effectively and safely.
- Maintain maintenance records and logs related to repairs, inspections, and completed work.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for facility repairs, maintenance, and improvement projects.
- Request, review, and support quotes for building improvements and maintenance-related services.
- Order parts and materials from third‑party electrical and mechanical suppliers.
- Perform security checks of the premises as required by authorized personnel.
- Respond to emergency call‑ins and facility‑related issues as required.
- Support fire safety, sprinkler system inspections, and emergency response activities.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures and training requirements.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
- High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of previous maintenance experience in a distribution, warehouse, or production environment.
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting aptitude and experience.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Basic computer skills to support maintenance‑related activities and documentation.
- Ability to obtain required fall arrest/fall protection training and certification for operation of elevated equipment.
- Ability to operate or become certified on material handling equipment utilized within the warehouse.
- Previous training or experience related to lockout/tagout (LOTO), cranes, hoists, or hazardous materials handling is considered essential.
- Good verbal communication skills with all departments, contractors, and external vendors.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Post‑secondary education in a mechanical, electrical, maintenance, or related field is considered an asset.
- Previous experience negotiating and coordinating vendors and contractors is considered an asset.

Work will be performed on‑site at a manufacturing facility and primarily in an office environment. Employees may be required to be present on the manufacturing floor and must wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. The position is located at the Groveport office (Monday–Friday). Work hours will be communicated by management.
