Compensation Range: $27 – $30
Essential ResponsibilitiesThe Maintenance Repairmen is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance of the equipment operated by the company. This may include equipment owned or leased by the company and/or equipment owned or leased by third parties.
- Performs preventive maintenance procedures on company mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis
- Completes daily, weekly and monthly checklists on equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures
- Assists and performs installation, maintenance, repair and construction work in the basic building maintenance trades, such as carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, locksmith, carpet, and mechanics
- Performs warehouse and/or terminal duties in connection with receiving, storage and distribution of materials; receives goods and materials and checks them against purchase orders and delivery documentation to ensure correctness of merchandise and proper condition
- Responsible for maintaining clean and orderly conditions within the warehouse and/or terminal
- Perform general grounds keeping on a daily basis; insure disposal areas are kept clean and in a safe condition
- May perform weekly safety checks throughout the facility to ensure a safe and clean environment for the patrons of the facility and to eliminate all hazards
- Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required
- Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures
- May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; orders parts as needed
- Provide input to the company regarding specifications of the operational equipment
- Evaluate maintenance programs to ensure they are accomplishing the intended objectives
- Constantly evaluate new technology as it is applied to equipment utilized by the company
- All other duties as assigned
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 2-4 years' experience working in maintenance
- Journeyman's License as a Millwright preferred
- Valid CPR certificate required
- Must have valid DL
- Experience with computerized operating systems
- Knowledge of safety and accident prevention codes and regulations
- Knowledge and understanding of cargo stowage and stability strongly desired
- Required to observe all safety and health requirements for container terminal environment
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No
- Must be able to work in rotating shifts, days, evenings and nights
- Must be able to work in extreme outdoor temperatures of hot and cold, extremely dusty conditions and occasionally, conditions of high levels of noise
- Must be able to work in an environment that may be hazardous to persons unable to see and hear fast moving equipment
- Must be able to operate various types of equipment
