Grade 4 of the ESP Salary Scale ($17.18 - $31.07). 8 Hours/Day, 12-Month Work Year, 2nd Shift. Reports to Facilities Operations Manager.

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
• Capable of climbing stairs, ladders, carrying reasonable loads, shoveling snow, operating gas‑powered equipment, and performing other manual tasks to maintain the buildings in first‑class condition.
• Ability to follow oral or simple written instructions.
• Willingness to participate in in‑service training programs.
• Regular and predictable attendance; essential function of this position.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

• Strong interpersonal skills to work harmoniously with staff, students, and community.
• Previous experience in commercial cleaning and mechanical/carpentry work.

• Perform cleaning operations such as scrubbing, mopping, sweeping, waxing, dusting, using hand or mechanical tools.
• Provide a presence to protect the school against fire, discourage theft, and prevent damage by trespassers.
• Care for and check the heating/air conditioning system as required by the site schedule, regardless of system type.
• Assist with and/or perform minor emergency repairs.
• Clean and care for the grounds.
• Keep work records and inventory of custodial equipment and supplies, and order supplies when necessary.
• Demonstrate courteous and professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Washington County Public Schools.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Move efficiently throughout the building and grounds for extended periods.
• Use sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with others.
• Maintain emotional control under stress.
• Move, raise, lower, and carry objects up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Operate powered equipment.
• Bend, crouch, stoop, reach, walk stairs, climb, and shovel.
• Be subjected to loud noises, dusts, fumes, and hot and cold outdoor temperatures.
