Meritus Health is seeking a dedicated Floor Care Technician to join our Environmental Services team. This role plays a vital part in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, and staff. As a Floor Care Technician, you will be responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of floors throughout the medical center. Your work ensures a sanitary, attractive, and safe environment across patient rooms, public areas, clinical spaces, and specialized areas such as MRI.

You'll perform a variety of floor care and general housekeeping duties, including:

• Provide scheduled floor care, including:
• Dry and wet mopping
• Stripping and waxing floors
• Buffing
• Carpet shampooing
• Shower scrubbing
• Maintain adequate supplies and assist with product selection.
• Perform routine maintenance on floor equipment and report issues beyond your ability.
• Clean and disinfect all assigned areas, including patient rooms, public spaces, restrooms, utility rooms, and equipment.
• Remove infectious and non-infectious waste according to procedures.
• Assist in training fellow housekeeping staff.

What You Bring:

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience:
  
  A minimum of one year of floor care experience required
• Skills:
• Strong customer service and communication
• Ability to read and follow detailed instructions
• Physical Requirements:
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs
• Occasional lifting over 50 lbs
• Ability to concentrate on detailed tasks and manage multiple responsibilities

• Occasional exposure to blood and body fluids
• Frequent exposure to toxins or hazardous chemicals
• Occasional exposure to radiation
