Grounds Maintenance​/Cemetery Lead

Under the direction of the Parks Supervisor or Parks Superintendent, performs duties necessary to ensure the accurate and professional maintenance and coordination of burial services in City owned cemeteries. Duties include, but are not limited to, meeting with customers for plot selection; marking and labeling boundaries for funeral services and monuments; property upkeep; and coordination between public, funeral homes and vault companies.

Responsible for mapping and recording burial plots.

Duties are performed primarily within an outdoor environment or setting. Possible exposure to electrical and chemical hazards; vibration; loud noise; inclement weather; and dust, allergens and mold.

• Required knowledge and experience is normally obtained through the completion of a curriculum resulting in either a High School Diploma or GED, and one (1) year of supervisory experience in grounds maintenance work or related experience are required.
• Must exhibit attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.
• Must be able to communicate and present oneself in a professional manner.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working and professional relationships with City employees and officials, and the general public.
• Ability to take and follow oral instructions.
• Ability to read and understand product instructions, especially as it pertains to chemical application and associated dosages.
• Ability to work under high demands, short time constraints, and pressure of a fast paced work environment.
• Ability to work during weekends and night time events and hours of operations.
