Laundry Room Attendant
You understand better than anyone how important clean linens and fresh towels are to a guest’s experience. You take pride in producing high-quality work, know how to stay efficient, and always put safety first. You enjoy working alongside a friendly, hardworking housekeeping team to ensure every guest experiences the comfort of a true “home away from home.” In the role of Laundry Room Attendant you will:
Focus on Details – Operate laundry equipment while maintaining a sharp eye on quality. Inspect linens and towels for stains, damage, or excessive wear, and report items needing repair or replacement. Wash, dry, press, fold, and deliver linens while ensuring standards are consistently met.
Be Organized – Keep clean linens neatly sorted, stacked, and readily accessible for housekeeping and other departments.
Be a Team Player – Support housekeeping and other team members as needed to maintain smooth daily operations.
Be a Safety & Security Agent – Follow all hotel safety and security policies, properly use chemicals and equipment, and report any hazards or concerns to management promptly.
Job Requirements
Ability to safely operate laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, laundry press, and sheet‑folding machines
Ability to safely handle laundry chemicals and cleaning agents
Medium work – ability to exert up to 50 lbs occasionally and up to 20 lbs frequently
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Basic English communication skills
Job Duties
In addition to the responsibilities above, essential duties include:
Approach all guest and employee interactions in a friendly, service-oriented manner
Maintain regular attendance in accordance with scheduling needs and New Castle standards
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and nametag
Keep supervisors informed of any challenges or issues requiring attention
Inspect and clean lint traps every six (6) hours to ensure safety and equipment performance
Keep the laundry room, equipment, and work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards
Turn in all lost and found items immediately according to hotel procedures
Report maintenance or equipment issues promptly to the supervisor
Sort all hotel linens by type, color, and size
Wash, transfer, and dry linens using proper procedures and safe work practices
Pre-treat stained or rusted linens prior to washing
Size, fold, and stack sheets for distribution to guest floors
Sort, press, and operate ironers for food and beverage linens
Size and stack food and beverage linens for delivery to appropriate departments
Assist with inventory control of linens and supplies as needed
