Utility Clerk Part Time

Job Summary

Responsible for performing general maintenance and cleaning duties and maintaining high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members. Gathers and returns carts/flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance to ensure ready access for club members.

• Provides prompt and courteous service and assistance to members.
• Maintains high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members.
• Maintains the cleanliness of all areas of the club, including sales floor, offices, restrooms, outdoor grounds and parking lot.
• Collects and returns carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to club entrance and ensures they are well-stocked and in working order.
• Removes trash or debris from the parking lot, cart corrals, and exterior of the club.
• Returns new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
• Performs wet and dry mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extracting, glass washing, emptying trash receptacles, and pulling pallets.
• Maintains outdoor grounds, sidewalks and trash receptacles.
• Prioritizes maintenance and cleaning responsibilities across the club in an efficient manner.
• Operates the floor scrubber, trash compactor and cardboard baler safely, following established safety standards.
• Restocks maintenance and cleaning supplies and keeps storage areas clean, neat, and organized.
• Performs minor building repairs and notifies management of major repairs needed.
• Maintains all club policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments.
• Works as a team to achieve goals and maintain a friendly and positive attitude.

• Successful completion of required training and certification processes.
• Prior maintenance or janitorial experience preferred but not required.
• Prior retail or wholesale experience preferred.
• May be less than 18 years old to perform parking lot cart functions; must be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age-restricted areas.

Most of the work is performed on hard surfaces, requiring frequent bending, climbing, crawling, pulling, reaching, stooping, and ladder use. Frequently involves lifting objects up to 30 pounds or more, using a pallet jack for pallets, and exposure to cleaning agents, paint, chemicals, indoor/outdoor temperatures, and extreme temperatures in freezers and coolers.

Pay range: $16.50 - $19.80 per hour, depending on location, education, experience, and qualifications.
