Guard, Maintenance​/Cleaning

Southeastern Louisiana University Department of Transportation Services invites applications for the position of Guard. Join our team in providing a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, employees, and visitors. This position performs security patrols of campus buildings and grounds, monitors access to facilities, responds to emergencies and disturbances, and helps maintain public safety. Responsibilities also include directing traffic, enforcing parking regulations, issuing citations, coordinating vehicle impoundments, installing traffic control devices, maintaining departmental equipment, and providing excellent customer service.

The successful candidate will communicate effectively with the public, assist during athletic and special events, complete accurate documentation, and work collaboratively to support daily campus operations while ensuring compliance with university policies and regulations.

Current salary: $12.84/hour

Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and be able to be certified through the Southeastern Defensive Driving Course.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

No experience or training is required.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Applicants may be required to possess a current Louisiana driver's license.
