Position: Fleet Equipment Maintenance Planner / Scheduler (Folsom)

Maintenance Planner And Scheduler

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Maintenance Planner and Scheduler to lead our facilities maintenance operations. The Maintenance Planner and Scheduler is responsible for planning, coordinating, and scheduling equipment maintenance and repair activities to maximize equipment availability, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed work plans for equipment maintenance and repair activities, including job scope, labor requirements, materials, tools, and estimated costs.
  • Coordinate outsourced repair activities and contractor services in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Schedule preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to optimize equipment uptime and resource utilization.
  • Review, prioritize, and process maintenance work requests in coordination with supervisors, operations personnel, and maintenance staff.
  • Coordinate equipment downtime requirements with operations and communicate scheduling needs to all stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain work orders, bills of materials, maintenance procedures, and supporting documentation.
  • Manage equipment records, maintenance history, parts information, operating manuals, and related data within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Coordinate procurement of parts, materials, equipment, rental units, and external vendor services required to complete maintenance activities.
  • Facilitate maintenance planning and scheduling meetings to align upcoming work with operational requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve maintenance procedures, workflows, and standard operating practices in accordance with OEM recommendations and company standards.
  • Monitor preventive maintenance programs and recommend improvements to maintenance frequencies, task lists, and parts requirements.
  • Track and report maintenance performance metrics, including schedule compliance, planning effectiveness, backlog management, labor utilization, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Analyze maintenance and scheduling data to identify trends, improve planning accuracy, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain maintenance records and documentation to support regulatory, company, and audit requirements.

Skills

  • Proven management experience in facilities or industrial maintenance environments with team supervision responsibilities.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in mechanical systems repair and troubleshooting.
  • Extensive experience managing facilities maintenance teams within manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting and communication purposes.
  • Skilled in managing projects using project management principles to meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Deep understanding of safety regulations including OSHA standards related to industrial environments.
  • Ability to read schematics for electrical systems, HVAC units, plumbing systems, and other mechanical components.
  • Experience with CMMS software for scheduling and tracking maintenance activities.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems repair including high voltage and low voltage applications.
  • Familiarity with industrial manufacturing processes and equipment maintenance best practices.
  • Competence in using testing tools such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively while managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma, Vocational School Diploma, or GED required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in equipment maintenance planning, scheduling, heavy equipment maintenance, fleet maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or maintenance scheduling software preferred.
  • Knowledge of maintenance planning, preventive maintenance programs, and maintenance workflows preferred.
