The successful candidate will join the Maintenance Department to support the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering Contract (CMOE) located at NASA’s Langley Research Center (LaRC). This position reports directly to the Work Control Manager. All work will be performed with a high standard of quality and professionalism.

Responsibilities

The Maintenance Pipe Planner/Scheduler is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating piping maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation on LaRC. This role develops detailed work packages, coordinates labor and materials, schedules maintenance work, and works closely with facilities and maintenance supervisors to minimize downtime while maximizing equipment reliability. It includes planning and scheduling preventive, predictive, corrective, and shutdown piping system maintenance activities;

developing detailed work packages; reviewing maintenance work requests and prioritizing jobs; coordinating with facilities to schedule equipment outages; ensuring materials and parts are available; preparing weekly and long-range maintenance schedules; monitoring schedule compliance; maintaining accurate maintenance records in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) (Maximo); supporting center turnaround and shutdown planning activities; participating in the safety observation program (SOR), safety meetings, and pre-job planning;

coordinating with procurement for purchasing piping system materials and specialty components; and identifying opportunities to improve maintenance processes, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Six (6) years of related experience in maintenance field associated with pipe/pipe fitting.
  • Additional relevant education and/or experience may substitute for a portion of the experience.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and written with effective use of visual aids.
  • Should be able to use computing technology for problem analysis and solution.
