Description
Vanguard Resources, Inc., (VRI) is actively recruiting for full‑time Facilities Maintenance Technicians, Level III – experienced plumbers and electricians.
Location:
Valley Baptist Medical Center – Harlingen, TX 78550.
Seeking skilled technicians proficient in electrical or plumbing with 2‑5 years of experience who can train and mentor others. Starting hourly rate of $18; wages based on skills and experience.
Shift options: 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. with schedules of Sunday‑through‑Thursday, Monday‑through‑Friday, or Tuesday‑through‑Saturday. A flex schedule may be assigned to meet client needs.
Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferred: some or completed college or technical school; facilities maintenance background in any industry and/or military; hospital experience preferred.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check and a pre‑employment drug screen.
- Must complete all required health screenings and vaccinations.
Assist in maintaining the physical structure and equipment of the facility, performing minor maintenance and repair duties, preventive maintenance, and general floor/wall repairs and painting as needed. Report to the Facility Supervisor & Facility Manager.
Daily Functions- Respond to building system issues (climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies, repairs).
- Assist with building security and respond immediately to building incidents.
- Monitor and replace light bulbs in all assigned facilities.
- Make minor plumbing repairs.
- Perform basic electrical work and determine when an electrician is required.
- Hang pictures and shelving.
- Transport goods or equipment as assigned.
- Perform immediate cleaning duties to maintain a clean facility.
- Complete other maintenance duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
- Effectively communicate orally and in writing with employees, contractors, and vendors.
- Computer skills; proficient in MS Office and preventive maintenance, building automation, procurement, and work assignment systems.
- Self‑starter and team player.
- Organized and able to support project plans.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff year‑round.
- Perform and document safety inspections on building systems.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to walk, use hands, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 100 pounds. Duties may occur near moving mechanical parts, in high or precarious places, outside weather conditions, and with exposure to chemicals, extreme temperatures, noise, and electrical shock.
