Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable Porter / Assistant Superintendent to support the daily operations of a condominium community in the Hartford area. This on-site role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and well-kept environment while proactively supporting the needs of the Association and assisting the Superintendent with day-to-day property operations.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain cleanliness of common areas including hallways, stairwells, entryways, elevators, parking garage, and shared spaces.
- Pick up trash and debris throughout the property, including walkways and parking areas.
- Ensure the property remains clean, orderly, and presentable at all times.
- Perform interior painting and minor repairs (drywall patching, fixture replacements, touch-ups).
- Replace light bulbs and assist with routine maintenance tasks.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and storage areas in a clean and organized manner.
- Carpet cleaning and sweeping of the parking garage.
- Conduct daily walk‑throughs to identify maintenance or safety concerns.
- Report issues, damages or violations promptly.
- Take a proactive approach to resolving minor issues.
- Support the unique needs of the Association as they arise.
- Assist with maintenance tasks, projects, and work orders.
- Help coordinate access for residents, vendors, and contractors.
- Provide general support to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Maintain a daily log of tasks completed.
- Communicate updates, issues, and priorities clearly.
- Monitor supplies and notify management when restocking is needed.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.
- Use equipment and materials safely.
- Assist with seasonal duties as needed.
- Participate in after‑hours emergency response if required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks (walking, lifting, cleaning, etc.).
- Basic maintenance and repair skills.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Good communication and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- 1+ year of porter, maintenance, or janitorial experience.
- Residential or condominium maintenance experience is a plus.
