Porter​/Assistant Superintendent

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable Porter / Assistant Superintendent to support the daily operations of a condominium community in the Hartford area. This on-site role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and well-kept environment while proactively supporting the needs of the Association and assisting the Superintendent with day-to-day property operations.

• Maintain cleanliness of common areas including hallways, stairwells, entryways, elevators, parking garage, and shared spaces.
• Pick up trash and debris throughout the property, including walkways and parking areas.
• Ensure the property remains clean, orderly, and presentable at all times.
• Perform interior painting and minor repairs (drywall patching, fixture replacements, touch-ups).
• Replace light bulbs and assist with routine maintenance tasks.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and storage areas in a clean and organized manner.
• Carpet cleaning and sweeping of the parking garage.
• Conduct daily walk‑throughs to identify maintenance or safety concerns.
• Report issues, damages or violations promptly.
• Take a proactive approach to resolving minor issues.
• Support the unique needs of the Association as they arise.
• Assist with maintenance tasks, projects, and work orders.
• Help coordinate access for residents, vendors, and contractors.
• Provide general support to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Maintain a daily log of tasks completed.
• Communicate updates, issues, and priorities clearly.
• Monitor supplies and notify management when restocking is needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
• Report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately.
• Use equipment and materials safely.
• Assist with seasonal duties as needed.
• Participate in after‑hours emergency response if required.

• Ability to perform physical tasks (walking, lifting, cleaning, etc.).
• Basic maintenance and repair skills.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Good communication and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• 1+ year of porter, maintenance, or janitorial experience.
• Residential or condominium maintenance experience is a plus.
