6th Grade ESL Educator: Inspire Language

Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the principal, the 6th Grade ESL Teacher will plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a middle school learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Successful teaching experience in a diverse setting is a plus.

• Bachelor's degree in Education required;
  Master's degree preferred.
• Valid Professional Educator Licensure from the Illinois State Board of Education.
• Appropriate endorsement for position.
• Previous teaching experience with elementary school-aged children preferred.

• Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout school and classroom.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer or standing to teach.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to traverse classroom and adjust one's tone and height, by bending or leaning, in order to teach each child.

• 180 day/10 month position.
• Evaluation conducted in accordance with the evaluation plan, the Illinois School Code and applicable regulations of the Illinois State Board of Education.
• Salary and increase set by Professional Negotiation Contract.

• In person and on site in a school/classroom environment.
• Close contact with school age children.
