Monitor Tech, Cardiac Telemetry - Part-Time, Night

Overview

Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital as a Monitor Technician in the Cardiac Telemetry unit. This is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.

• Maintains responsibility for monitor count
• Alerts RN of any change in patient rhythm
• Maintains constant observation of all monitors for any rhythm changes and responds as appropriate
• Reviews alarm settings every shift for each patient
• Documents on monitor screen location of patients offline
• Maintains census for each shift with patient name, room number, rhythm, rate, assigned RN

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Read and write and perform simple arithmetic calculations
• Successfully completed training which includes basic rhythm strip interpretation

• Previous monitor technician or paramedic training

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity.
