Locked Unit experience required. Experience with vital signs, 4-point restraints, and de-escalation techniques required.

Description:

One year of experience required. 36 or 48 hours available. Locked unit experience is necessary. Experience with vital signs, four-point restraints, and de-escalation techniques is required. Experience leading group therapy is preferred. All patients are 18 years old and up. No on-call or float is required. CPR certification is required. Skills required include management of anxiety disorders, assaultive behavior, assisting with ambulation and feeding patients, and crisis intervention.

Experience in handling depressive disorders, psychotic disorders, and suicidal behavior is essential. Therapeutic communication skills and the ability to recognize medication side effects are required. Experience in milieu management and obtaining vital signs is necessary. Patients may present with diagnoses such as schizophrenia, affective disorders, major depressive disorder, and substance-related disorders. This position involves providing inpatient support for adults experiencing acute mental health crises.

Focus is on stabilization and safety in a 24-hour care setting. Collaboration with interdisciplinary support services is part of the role. Special equipment used includes electronic monitoring systems for regular safety rounds.
