Schedule:

Monday-Friday 9a-5p (Availability on the Weekends, some flexible assignments)

Salary: $25000 Living Stipend (Around $14.75 Hour)

Ameri Corps members and Ameri Corps Seniors volunteers serve directly with nonprofit organizations to tackle our nation’s most pressing challenges.

Hosted by Neighbor Scapes NFP, seven full-time Ameri Corps members will compose a "Harvey Conservation Corps" who will help catalyze revitalizing green spaces in and around the southern Chicago suburb of Harvey, Illinois.

The Ameri Corps members will take responsibility for supporting community gardens, urban farms and healthy green streetscapes; creating and maintaining trails in nearby parks and forest preserves; helping residents with both environmental stewardship and health education around nature, connecting Harvey students with nature; and maintaining and improving public lands.

• Clearing Invasive Plant species in Parks / Forest Preserve
• Creating /maintaining nature trails in public lands around the South Suburbs
• Working in urban farms and community gardens

• Must be a U.S. Citizen (required for FEMA Corps and Forest Corps), or a Lawful Permanent Resident of the U.S.
• Must pass a background check upon arrival to the program. This will include fingerprinting
• For Full-Time Service, an individual must be available for full-time service consisting of extensive local/regional travel and additional service events around the State of Illinois (specifically Chicagoland).
