RN Nurse, Staff Nurse
Be a part of a world‑class academic healthcare system, University of Chicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial, as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. This position is 100% onsite and will be based in the greater Chicagoland area.
Essential Job Functions- Collaborate closely with physicians to assess, design, coordinate, implement, and evaluate patients’ care plans and outcomes.
- Demonstrate necessary skills and knowledge to provide complex nursing care and delegate tasks to other team members according to unit competencies.
- Maintain and monitor the quality of patient care and patient satisfaction.
- Pursue professional development opportunities independently and accurately.
- Assume responsibility to ensure daily operations of the patient care center are efficient and effective.
- Work within accepted service standards and support the Vision of Ingalls Hospital.
- Partner with other patient‑care team members and proactively address individual patient, family, and physician needs, exceeding expectations and employing appropriate customer relations.
- Understand, follow, and actively support the philosophy, mission, and vision of Ingalls Hospital.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and standard of care.
- Observe and adhere to all corporate compliance requirements; communicate issues as they arise to the appropriate parties.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate (ADN).
- Current RN licensure from the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation or a valid temporary permit to practice nursing in Illinois.
- Current Basic Life Support certification (Health Care Provider Recognition).
- Experience in the Emergency Department.
